Aged care Manager

Challenges

Jane's business support nearly 200 aged care residents and 50 In-home care clients. Being a regional employer, they've had employee acquisition and retention challenges since 2020. With new reforms, she wants to ensure they pass the audits without a problem.

Solution

Jane contacted Pathly, Inc to see if a solution could be worked out. Pathly, Inc suggested that Jane register Best Age Care as an Approved Employer (AE) with PALMS take advantage of the Pacific Labour Supply scheme to hire workers from the Pacific countries. She explored the idea and wanted to ensure the workers were suitable to work in their facility.

Jane's Requirements

Ensure employees are:

  1. Qualified with an accredited course in Cert III.

  2. All mandatory checks and training completed.

  3. Attained an acceptable level of English competency

  4. Workers’ wrap-around service ensures the employee's well-being and retention.

  5. Agreements in place.

Employer Initiated Loan for Workers

  • All the workers will attend mandatory pre-departure training.

  • Travel and visa costs will be repaid to the employer.

  • Pathly, Inc. will make sure that the sourced employees can get the best help for mental health and well-being services from our trained social workers.

  • Pathly, Inc. will work with employers and workers to understand the skill gaps and address them through partner organisations.

  • Employment contracts will cover the required insurance, such as worker’s compensation and medical insurance.

  • We have factored in an initial 3-months of accommodation support. However, long-term individual and family support need to be funded by the employees with the help of Pathly, Inc support.

  • We recommend minimum wages according to Fair Work Australia guidelines.

  • We provide the right advice to our workers to live within their means.

  • We will negotiate with the providers for rental contracts and associated support.

  • Employers will initiate a loan that will be repaid in instalments. This loan amount includes the expenses outlined on this page.

Pathly Inc Operations

  • We anticipate providing 60 hours of support per worker to increase their chances of employee retention and well-being.

  • Our workers will be skilled to perform in their nominated jobs. As such, we will provide assessments based on the needs of the employers.

  • Our local staff will work with the Labour Sending Unit (LSU) to ensure the onboarding process is fulfilled.

  • Our program manager in Australia will be the key contact person for running this program efficiently.
